At Orchids International School as we embark on our Pixellence journey, our goal is to transform our students into skilled visual storytellers. Throughout the year, students will master fundamental photography techniques, including the rule of thirds, leading lines, texture, repeating patterns, symmetry, and long exposure. Additionally, they will learn to enhance their images using Snapseed, honing their editing skills to perfection. By the end of the year, the best work will be considered for inclusion in a prestigious photobook, showcasing the exceptional talent from our 90+ branches. This photobook will not only celebrate individual achievements but also inspire a shared passion for the art of photography. This program is not just about learning photography; it’s about discovering new ways to see the world, telling stories through images, and expressing oneself creatively.
Throughout the year, students will delve into essential photography techniques that form the foundation of great photography:
Rule of Thirds: Learn to compose photos that are balanced and engaging.
Leading Lines: Discover how to guide the viewer's eye through the image.
Texture and Patterns: Explore the world of textures and repeating patterns to add depth and interest to your shots.
Symmetry: Create harmonious and visually pleasing images.
Long Exposure: Experiment with long exposure to capture movement and light in unique ways.
Students will also gain proficiency in editing their photos using Snapseed. This powerful yet user-friendly app will help them enhance their images, correct imperfections, and apply creative effects to bring their vision to life.
As a culminating project, the school will publish a photobook showcasing the best photos taken by students across our 90 branches. This photobook will not only celebrate the talent and hard work of our students but also serve as a testament to the diverse perspectives and creativity within our school community.
